Riverbend is a modern musical retelling of the Greek myth of Daphne and Apollo. Guided by an ensemble of mysterious storytellers, we follow recent high school graduate Daphne as she stubbornly prepares for a yearlong sailing trip inspired by her late mother. Avoiding her father’s attempts to connect, she believes she will be on her way by summer’s end...until twins Diana and Aiden suddenly arrive in her small Eastern Shore town, challenging her plans and her heart. Caught between a desperate pursuit from one sibling and an instant spark of queer attraction to the other, Daphne must face both feelings of romance she has never known before alongside feelings of loss she knows all too well. Competing desires, influences, and family scars soon collide in a predestined whirlwind of grief...or can our young hero somehow change the end of her own story?
